Minnehaha County Legislative District Boundary Descriptions
Includes full Legislative District descriptions that overlap Minnehaha County The following boundary descriptions are meant to be a guide. Actual boundaries may differ.
District 2:
South Boundary: Start at very southeast corner of Minnehaha County (South Dakota & Minnesota State line). Intersection of 488th Ave. & 268th St. – east on 268th St (South Dakota & Iowa state line) to Highway 11 (Veterans Parkway).
West Boundary: Start at Highway 11 & 268th St. – north on Highway 11 to 18th St. – west at 18th to Sycamore Ave. – north on Sycamore to Madison St. – east on Madison to Veterans Parkway. – Follow Veterans Parkway north to I-90. Continue north on 478th Ave. to 258th St.
North Boundary: Start at 478th Ave. & 258th St. – east on 258th St. to 488th St (South Dakota & Minnesota state line).
East Boundary: Start at 258th St & 488th St. – south on 488th St. (South Dakota & Minnesota state line) to 268th St. (southeast corner of Minnehaha County).
District 9:
South Boundary: Start at 268th St. (57th St.) & Ellis Road. – west on 268th St. to 460th Ave.
West Boundary: Start at 268th St. (57th St.) & 460 Ave. – north on 460th Ave. to 258th St.
North Boundary: Start at 460th Ave & 258th St. – east on 258th St. to 466th Ave. – south on 466th Ave. to 262nd St. – east on 262nd St. to Marion Road - north on Marion Road to 60th St. North (Highway 38). – east on 60th St. North to I-29.
East Boundary: Start at I-29 & 60th St. North – Follow I-29 south to 12th St. – west on 12th St. to Sertoma Ave. – south on Sertoma to 26th St. – west on 26th St. to Grinnell Ave. – south on Grinnell Ave. to 41st St. – west on 41st St. to Ellis Road - south on Ellis Road to 268th St. (57th St.)
District 10:
South Boundary: Start at 33rd St. from westside of Big Sioux River west to 4th Ave. – north on 4th to 31st St. – west on 31st St. to Phillips Ave. – south one block on Phillips Ave. to 32nd St. then west on 32nd St. to Minnesota Ave.
West Boundary: Start at 32nd St. and Minnesota Ave. - north on Minnesota Ave. to 14th St. – east on 14th St. to Cliff Ave. – north on Cliff Ave. to just north of the Big Sioux River (southern edge of Norton Acres). – East to I-229 - north on I-229 to 60th St. North.
North Boundary: Start at 60th St. North and I-229 east to approximately Veterans Parkway (there are some unpopulated areas between these points that are not included in this district).
East Boundary: Start at approximately Veterans Parkway and Rice St. (not exact starting location) roughly following Veterans Parkway south to Madison St. – west on Madison St. to Sycamore Ave. – south on Sycamore Ave. to 18th St. – west on 18th St. to I-229 - south on I-229 to Rotary Park (where the river crosses I-229). From here the boundary follows the Big Sioux River south to 33rd St. on the westside of the Big Sioux River.
District 11:
South Boundary: Start at I-29 and 57th St. – west to Ellis Road.
West Boundary: Start at 57th & Ellis Road - north on Ellis Road to 41st St. - east on 41st St. to Grinnell Ave. - north on Grinnell Ave. to 26th St. – east on 26th to Sertoma Ave. - north on Sertoma Ave to 12th St.
North Boundary: Start at 12th St. and Sertoma Ave. – east to I-29.
East Boundary: Start at I-29 and 12th St – Follow I-29 south to 57th St.
District 12: (Boundary overlaps Minnehaha County and Lincoln County)
South Boundary (begins in Lincoln County): start at Western Ave. and Endeavor Elementary School – west towards Louise Ave. then following the southern boundary of the Sioux Falls city limits west over to I-29, except the portion south of 85th St and west of S. Hughes Ave.
West Boundary – Start at I-29 and approximately 82nd St. – follow I-29 north to 18th St.
North Boundary – Start at 18th & I-29. – east at 18th (through The Country Club of Sioux Falls) to Minnesota Ave.
East Boundary – Start at Minnesota Ave & 18th St. – south to 37th St. – west on 37th St. to Western Ave. – south on Western Ave. to Endeavor Elementary School.
District 13: (Boundary overlaps Minnehaha County and Lincoln County)
South Boundary (begins in Lincoln County): Start at 268th St. and approximately Six Mile Road. – south approximately ½ mile and then west following Sioux Falls city limits west to Western Ave. except the portion south of 85th St. and east of E. Clearwater Pl. extended.
West Boundary: Start at approximately 88th St. & Western Ave. – north on Western Ave. to 37th St.
North Boundary: Start at 37th & Western Ave. – east on 37th St. to Minnesota Ave. – north on Minnesota Ave. to 31st St. – east on 31st St. to 4th Ave. – south on 4th Ave. to 33rd St. – east on 33rd St. to west side of the Big Sioux River (east of I-229).
District 14:
South Boundary: Start at 57th St. & Highway 11 (Veterans Parkway). – west on 57th St. to Cliff Ave.
West Boundary: Start at 57th St. & Cliff Ave. – north on Cliff Ave. to Tuthill Park. – follow the Big Sioux River north to the north end of Rotary Park (where I-229 crosses the Big Sioux River). follow I-229 north to 18th St.
North Boundary: Start at 18th St. and I-229 – east on 18th St. to Highway 11 (Veterans Parkway).
East Boundary: Start at Highway 11 & 18th St. – south on Highway 11 to 57th St.
District 15:
South Boundary: Start at 14th & Cliff Ave. – west on 14th St. to Minnesota Ave. – south on Minnesota Ave. to 18th St. – west on 18th St. to I-29.
West Boundary: Start at I-29 & 18th St. – follow I-29 north to 60th St. North.
North Boundary: Start at 60th St. North & I-29 – east on 60th St. North to I-229.
East Boundary: Start at 60th St. North & I-229 – follow I-229 south to the southern edge of Norton Acres (area just north of the Big Sioux River). – west on southern edge of Norton Acres to Cliff Ave. – south on Cliff Ave. to 14th St.
District 25: (Includes areas in Minnehaha County & Moody County)
South Boundary: Start at 258th St. & 488th Ave. – west on 258th St. to 478th Ave. – south on 478th to approximately 60th St. North. – west on 60th St. North to Marion Road. – south on Marion Road to Benson Road (262nd St.) - west on Benson Road to 466th Ave. – north on 466th Ave. to 258th St. – west on 258th St. to 460th Ave. – south on 460th Ave. to 268th St. – west on 268th St. to 454th Ave.
West Boundary: Start at 268th St. & 454th Ave. – north on 454th Ave. to 244th St. – east on 244th St. to 466th Ave. – north on 466th Ave. to 220th St.
North Boundary: Start at 466th Ave. & 220th St. – east on 220th St. to 488th Ave. (South Dakota and Minnesota state line).
East Boundary: Start at 220th St. & 488th Ave. (South Dakota and Minnesota state line). South on 488th Ave. to 258th St.
